At least once a week I have someone tell me: “I envy your life.” I always look back at them and ask incredulously “why?!” though I already know the answer. There is something extremely satisfying in working for yourself – being your own boss as it were.
I know some folks quip: “it’s tough to be your own boss, cause I’d never get anything done.” And I guess that’s where I’m different… I love getting stuff done. If I’m not designing something then indulging in some other form of creativity, whether that be writing music (yes, I’m a songwriter with several albums out: www.natecurrin.com), putting together an interesting cuisine (I’ve taken culinary classes and love cooking), or painting (I’ve painted on and off over the years, and sold quite a few here and there). So, to me – creativity is life. And I don’t have a problem staying on top of things, mainly because I believe I absolutely love what I do.
And being involved in so many facets of creative living, my design benefits from my songwriting, or painting, or even my culinary work. Because being creative is truly a way of life.
